BitMover Introduces Open Source L Programming Language

Campbell, CA - October 11, 2006 - BitMover, Inc., the leader in scalable, distributed source code management, today announced the development of a new, open source programming language called 'L'. L derives its simplicity and productivity by drawing from both C and Perl, taking the best of each to make a unique scripting language that has C-like variables (including structs) and compile time type checking. The C syntax that L shares makes the leap for C programmers a tiny jump, while Perl's powerful associative arrays, regular expressions and memory management makes them more productive than ever. L is the most natural fit for any C programmer who needs a fast, stable, dynamic environment for development.

The language will be used for Web and GUI programming and has a BSD like license.

A paper describing the language is here.
